So a friend of mine has an 08 busa with a megaphone type exhaust (not Brock's). He has a power commander and hash the bike tuned by a tuner with really good credentials. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think there was 25 hp gain and 12 lb torque. Not bad right? Well the tuner tells him that if he had a more traditional exhaust there would have been more of a hp gain. The reason the tuner claims is that type of exhaust provides no back pressure.

I have an 09 with Gen 3 full exhaust. I sounds ok but not loud or aggressive sounding enough for me. I am considering doing the alien head conversion but I don't want to hurt the engine or loose performance. I keep hearing from people that the Brock's alien head are not healthy for bikes.

Someone please make me smarter. I would post pics but Im not sure how to do yet. Lol

Don the alien head is my favorite and ran that system on numerous bikes putting 10's of thousands of street and track miles on them with ZERO failures to any of my engines!.....or any other "ill side affects" to the bikes!As for loosing performance switching over to the alien head from the full cannister I have to say it's not going to happen!Another statement I believe in is LOUD PIPES SAVE LIFES! and this is definatley a statement you have to somewhat take in when running the alien head!Good luck and you really can't go wrong with either of your decisions because you already made the first one the right one by getting a gen 3! Whatever cannister you decide on is a moot point! Tommy

Tommy, Thanx for the words of wisdom. I don't know if I stated it before but I bought the bike used and it had the Gen 3 on it already. I have never actually heard the Alien head in person. I was hoping I would have the chance prior to buying. But oh well, I will take a chance. Thanx again.

Don if you do a search on youtube there is probably a video of a busa with the alien head if you want to hear it! Although its much better in person!

It's my personal Busa and it's in my warehouse, 4 HARD years later - it still runs great.

I would love to meet those 'people' and tell them how ridiculous they are ;)
