04 Busa Brocked out, with 60 HP wet system. I'm only having problems shifting, (using a Muzzy high pressure system), going into 4th gear when I'm on the spray. I do not have my controller on yet. I spray as soon as I shift into 3rd. Should I try adjust kill time or delay? All other gears are good to go. Any help or insite is appreciated. I'm looking to fix this issue before the NED Division 1 Finals in 3 weeks. Three years with a BUSA three years in the finals. Rick Over 45 and having fun |

How much timing are you taking out while on the spray? and did this problem just start or has it done it all the time? could be a couple of different things. |

I'm using Brocks 02B map and took out 1 more degree than what his map had removed already. Brock said I would be safe like this. This has been a constant issue since the spray was put on. Thanks Tommy.

Here is what we found out about bikes not shifting on spray.#1-just ridder error not hitting the button(shift) or just nipping the button,#2- you dont have enough kill time ,#3-transmissions need a input mod done to them and back cut,#4 the reat tire is spinning or clutch is slipping#5- which is the dangerous one, the side wire on the spark plug is GLOWING, (and is causing pre-detonation).take your plugs out and look at the side wire,if they look like a torch has been held on it then #5 is your problem. they will be shinny and bluish looking. there is a cure for this, ngk spark plugs has what they call a surface gap plug out, it is for race use only and very expensive. we run these in all our nos bikes and seem to work very well.i will get you a part#. tommy

That is a good question, we don't do a lot of street riding just a occasional blast down the freeway and back with no problem. most of our testing is done on the dyno. the plugs have a zero heat range, and may load up on you during general use. I know it is a pain but i would only run them on raceday and then switch back to normal plugs (cr9e or cr9ek) for daily riding. tommy |
