Has anyone ever dropped their bike while just sitting still on the bike or standing next to it?    I used to make fun of other guys that did it until now Embarrassed    I have learned a valuable lesson on why or how it happened to me twice, first was my busa; I needed to tie my shoe as I was headed out of my driveway, the kick-stand was all the way down but what I didn't think was a problem was the slope of the driveway was very very slight but enough that the nose of the bike was still pointing downhill (that's a No-No).

The 2nd time was the other day on my beautiful forever soul bike ZX-14 and to make matters worse, was in front of a lot of people and family. I had it parked in front of a metal shop type building and while I was being rushed to get suited up and follow someone waiting to drive off (not blaming anyone else here), I was sitting on the bike and walking it backward and then turning it to face outward. My legs are very strong but doesn't matter, I mis-calculated the slope once again but at a different location. As the bike shifted over to the right I went to brace my right leg but the ground was not where I expected it to be. My foot kept on falling and then the bike had enough momentum that when my foot did touch the ground the bike was falling with too much force too fast for me to stop it. We both fell down together as I tried my best to cushion my bike from the fall. I just can't believe I let this happen.

Lesson's learned:
1) Have frame sliders mounted to the frame!! I did and it saved me a lot of damage.

2) Pay close attention to uneven surfaces, the smallest slopes and inclines can cause problems. This one I have learned the hard way twice. Geek

3) Don't hurry yourself so much that you react out of character.
