For drag purposes(suspension)what differences would it be to cut the forks other than using a front drag tie down strap? |

For purely drag (no street whatsoever) cut forks work well, as long as they have ZERO sag. But - This makes for problems on the street, such as: 1. Chassis can be too low for safe operation 2. Very stiff ride (not only uncomfortable, but a loss of front end traction around corners is more likely) 3. No sag generally means no dampening, which can lead to handling problems (wobble etc.) A front end strap can be loosened, to avoid the above on the street. A loose front end strap can also be used as a tuning aid during operation on very slippery racing surfaces (providing more traction). It is also more economical. Brock

With an air shifter, 16/45 gearing, and 66"stretch the bike ran a best 6.11 run on the stock header with the stock exhaust cans removed.
Since then, I've installed: PCV, full brocks street meg exhaust system, your street map programmed, secondary butterflies removed, and front end strap. I need help getting this bike into the 5.xxs. Any advice?? |
