I'm looking into purchasing an alien head exhaust system for my 06 ZX-14. I'v been wanting a new exhaust for awhile now and my girlfriend has been saying that the stock exhaust has been heating up her feet while there on the passenger pegs. I figured it was the perfect excuse to get a new one.
My question is, does the alien head system keep the heat and exhaust flow away from the passenger? |

Elihue,
The 14" Alienhead and Shortmeg both will exit under passenger foot peg. Our black ceramic 20" Alienhead would be perfect for your application, here is a link:
we have 3 in stock and can ship today.

Do the 20" and the 14" systems use the same header? Looks to me like the only difference between the systems is the length of the slip on portion. If so, are the slip on portions interchangeable with the same headers? I ask this because I like the 14" system a lot and I am aware that it ends under the passenger foot peg but I was hoping that the exhaust pressure would be high enough to blow the exhaust out past the passenger all together. I say this because the problem with the stock pipes is not with the exhaust flow its with the actual pipes being so damn big and right directly under the foot peg. When they heat up, the heat radiates off of them and makes the passengers feet hot and uncomfortable.
Visual example below: ![]() However the exhaust pressure of the zx-14 is so high that the exhaust blows straight out from the pipes until about 3.5 - 4.0ft. back from the bike when the exhaust actually slows down and starts to rise. The 14" system just looks better IMO and that's why I was hoping it would work. Maybe I could buy the 14" system and switch to the 20" slip on if the 14" doesn't work? EDIT: This might be a stupid question but does the ceramic coating do anything to suppress the temperature of the outside of the slip on? |
