We are expecting the first batch of them to come in any time now, if you haven't already, I would place your order, that will hold the next available one for you. It is okay to run the pipe without one, you just won't have the best performance possible.

Unfortunately, none of the maps we previously created (in an attempt to offset the predicted rush…) using the 2011 ZX-10R PCV will NOT function with the true ZX-14R PCV. We are going to have to start all over again L. We hope to have a solid database of Street and (dyno based) Track maps (Flies in, stock and Guhl ‘Brock Flashed' ECU), beginning with the Alien Head 2 by the end of next week. These maps will also work well with the CT series, which will follow shortly thereafter. Please understand that true Track maps take TRACK TIME and our track opens tomorrow… Slugger will be on the dyno tomorrow, instead since our (specially expedited) true PCV just showed up Thursday. Updated maps will be available throughout the summer. Brock |

That's cool, I have already removed the flies, That is not gonna hurt me is it? Should I put them back in? Bike does feel stronger down low with them out. I guess the only difference would be from 0 to 3500 rpm with the map.

No. leave them out - You can tell me if the new maps help (:
And correct; the flies out gain will be from idle to 3500 RPM with a Guhl ECU and idle to 5500 RPM with a stock ECU.

89 Shell is that 10% ethanol or the non ethanol fuel. Does that make any difference?
Thanks again.

Hi All:
I'm new to this private forum and my first post. Can Brock's Performance advise me which map and PCV I can order online from your site for "best performance and smooth street ridability?" I have the CT Series Single BLUE Titanium full system. I'm in prep for my 2nd Blue '12 ZX14R in a crate ready this week. First ZX14R was less than 2 months old. A preoccupied cager suddenly and illegally crossed the double yellow w/o a passenger into the carpool lane, hit me on the busiest I 405 during rush hour here in Los Angeles, and after almost saving it for 100ft+(crazy what witnesses saw, rode the ZX14R like a dirtbike), tagged another vehicle. Lowsided, totalled. I'm striving to build beyond where I had just finished with that bike. The CT Single Ti was not damaged amazingly! So, I already have the Brock's Ohlins damper and Ti exhaust ready. Thanks, Dave

RU_MATRX, glad to hear that you are okay, you will want the street map, it will run the best with 89 octane pump gas

Brock and Steve.....
Got your PC with the street map you installed last Friday....plugged both both air return hoses all popping is gone now! 14r runs like a jet smooth performance..... 501 miles on it now going to do a short ride tomorrow morning, then change the oil and install the oil I got from you and the oil additive . Am very happy with the CT Exhaust System, especially after having it Jet Coated last week too...no welds showing and it matches the lower black stock parts....and the green Brocks muffler logo really is a nice showy plate on both sides. Lowered 1.75 inches front and rear, Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake lines front and rear, HID, PIAA 65 Watt Platinum bulbs for the high beams, Apex risers, ISO grips, Pazzo Levers, Zero Gravity Windscreen, Lightweight Battery, Hugger on the way from UK, and frame sliders too. Whelen police brake lights installed on custom rear license plate frame and custom ZX14 tag being made as we speak. Waiting for PIAA 1100X 65 Watt Platinum lights on the sides of both front fenders, so I can ride at night at higher speeds and see dips in the road and avoid them and have more night time confidence on the back roads... Custom fuse box hidden in the rear took kit box everything double fused for safety. The highlight of this bike of course is the Brock exhaust system.....I love the lightweight, and the sound....so far have easily removed 50 pounds of dead weight from the stock weight, so that should help in the performance areas too. A Mix-It amplifier on the front top fork increases the reports from GPS 550, the 9500i Passport Radar Detector. Wireless Bluetooth technology allows intercom with other riders under 900 yards, and to take and make cell phone calls if necessary. Have a fully loaded C-14 too, so this is a nice pair of bikes, very similarly prepared. The hardest decision I have to make now is which bike to ride!! Thank you Brock and all your staff for providing quality products so we can further enjoy getting the most out of our great bikes.... Ninjawarrior

Awesome...sounds great guys!Mine is on the way now...single titatium ct.One question...probably for Brock or Steve...but...does the new PCV come with the map already loaded in...I have the street map also 'in my order'...????Thanks all.Glad Matrx that you're okay...the 405..ya...I know about that friggin freeway!
It 'may' have been answered already...but...I have the Guhl flash...secondaries opening sooner...all that...do I have to remove my flies now?I'd rather not pull the tank if not necessary.

Steve,
Now that return hoses are plugged, your street map installed on my CT dual 2012 ZX14r, should I pull the flies? I pulled them last week then re-installed when it would not idle... Finally increased the idle screw a bit and all is well....but should the flies come out for street applications...I will never put it on the dragstrip....just want high performance on the street to the maximum! Thanks, Ninja

You will want to unplug the right hose, that was for the previous ZX14, sorry about the confusion. Then you will have to adjust your idle back. As far as the flies go, you don't have to remove them for street use.

Steve thanks for your note. I rode it early this morning, I adjusted the idle to 1100 rpm when it is warmed up. It balks at low speed starting off from a light and I have to clutch it and manipulate the throttle to smooth things out...wants to shake and not be smooth.
I will remove the right side plug and restore it to stock and see how it performs later. Have 575 Miles on it now and will change oil with your oil and additive too, and have switched this tank of gas to Shell 89 octane per your recommendations. At higher speeds it performs extremely well, am just concerned about the low idle/speed throttle response....hope that removing that plug solves the issues. Will advise...thanks again, Ninja

Would like to know about KN BMC filters what s the real deal on them, are they ok or not seems
to me that you can see daylight through them but not a paper filter , in theory they would be better but Brock says no the them, I have to go with him on that but still like to see real dyno tests for sure. |
