Latest update: April, 2019

Aftermarket products NOT available from Brocks Performance: As a general rule, if you don't see a particular product available in our Brock's Performance store.. Its because we do not consider it worth selling! We use what we sell and we sell what we use. We pay little or no attention to market trends or fancy product marketing. The bottom line is this; if Brock feels that a particular product should be used on your motorcycle to make it BETTER in any way, we try to make it available through Brocks so that we can provide the highest level of customer support possible. If a particular product is not listed in our store (example: aftermarket gauze type air cleaners for STREET use) it's because we have found them to be no advantage compared to stock. We don't want you to waste your money any more than you do and we certainly don't want to direct you to purchasing a product which will slow you down.

Naturally, there are some exceptions to this rule for particular use (street/drag race/land speed/road race/grudge race with large displacement engines etc.) we recommend calling our technical support staff for specifics.

ALL MOTORCYCLE OWNERS SHOULD REFERENCE THE 99-2007 HAYABUSA TEST AND RACE INFORMATION as this is our longest running and most updated information section :  https://forums.brocksperformance.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=13&title=busa-9907test-and-race-information

Our map structure and labeling is as follows:

TRACK MAP- for use on the drag strip with air cleaner removed, or suitable aftermarket RACE style air cleaner installed, using oxygenated fuel (MR9- MR11-U4.2 etc.)
DO NOT ride on the street with the air cleaner removed.

STREET MAP- for use on the street with air cleaner installed using pump gas (any octane- we dyno with BP93 for street use in hot conditions. 87-89 makes more power if the bike NEVER PINGS.if it does, convert to 91-93 Octane immediately)

Note: it is not necessary to switch maps back and forth. BUT the best drivability and performance will be noticed if you do.

TRE installed= No map changes required

NO SEC= Secondary throttle plates removed- DO NOT remove the secondary throttle plates on ANY new Suzuki (Busa or GSX-R1000)

So

BPP-S1308-08-ALL_Dyno/Track-MAP1.djm

Is for use in a S1308 (Suzuki 1300 Hayabusa), year 2008 (-08) with for ALL Street Systems:

Brock's Performance Street Megaphone, Generation 3 Exhaust System with Alien Head Short Meg or Oval (20 inch and 14 inch) Muffler. For use on the Dyno or Race track with Oxygenated fuel and the stock air cleaner removed. DO NOT ride on the street with the air cleaner removed.

BPP-S1308-08-ALL_STREET-MAP1.djm

Brock's Performance Street Megaphone, Generation 3 Exhaust System with Alien Head Short Meg or Oval (20 inch and 14 inch) Muffler. For use on the Street with any octane pump fuel and the stock air cleaner installed.

ALWAYS CHECK THE MAP NOTES FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS

SPECIAL NOTE:The Gen 1 and Gen 2 Busa's share 90% of the same information.

ECU Re-Flash:

It is important to understand that if you alter your stock ECU from the Suzuki base map using PetricK's ECU editor software/or Boost by Smith etc. (other than raising the peak rpm limit, 400 RPM max increase is our suggestion, and removing the top speed limiter) that our Power Commander and Bazzaz maps will no longer function properly and our technical support staff will not be able to help you troubleshoot controls-based problems.  We also have no way of increasing the RPM tuning ceiling of some maps, you will need to consult the manufacturer of your ECU modification software to address these issues.

Our support program is based on the OEM configuration so that all bikes are on the same page; the moment you alter this, you have created a custom configurationand will be on your own just like any other racer or tuner.  Please save your OEM base map before making any adjustments to the stock ECU.  This will allow us to help you later if you decide to return to the OEM settings and take advantage of our proven combinations using a Power Commander.

The same holds true if you alter your stock ECU with a Yoshimura clicker box or a Factory Pro Teka unit.  ALL maps supplied by Brocks Performance are designed to add or subtract from the factory developed maps stored in the stock ECU.  The ONLY way our maps will function correctly is to return the ECU to its zero settings.

Attention: there are rubber grommets located on each ram air tube which help secure the side fairings. Care must be taken to lubricate the plastic tip on the fairing (we now use bearing grease, Vaseline, WD-40 etc.) If the tip is not lubricated, the grommets can be pushed into the ram air tube. If the grommets push into the tube, they can be SUCKED INTO THE INLETS if you are not running an air cleaner at the track. This could cause catastrophic engine failure at worst OR they can sit in you intake track causing a loss in power/performance. This loss can be subtle enough to be hard to notice while riding. Its an easy mistake to make..my head technician had them BOTH fall out and get stuck in Chronics intake track at different times! We were luckily able to retrieve them both with no engine damage. We experienced a loss of 2 tenths at the drag strip and a HP loss of around 10 HP with one stuck. This problem would have been nearly impossible to detect without racing and/or dyno runs as the seat-of-the-pants feel and engine sound change was not readily noticeable.

**DANGER: This could also create a hazardous condition from the throttle sticking open!**

Guys,

We have noticed a slight surge issue at idle on SOME 2008 Hayabusas. If your idle is smooth, there is no need for you to do anything.if your idle is jumpy or erratic at/or around idle, please proceed:

It is critical that the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) be set correctly. The easiest way to monitor the TPS is with the power commander attached and the bike running with the idle adjusted to around 1200 RPM.

Please go here and select Tutorial 10 for more information on how to reset the TPS in the power commander software:  http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander_iii_usb/powercommander_general_downloads.aspx

We recommend resetting the TPS manually in dealer mode using the 08 Busa service manual as a guide if it cannot be properly adjusted using the procedure above.

We have also made some map changes to help alleviate this problem. To request the latest mapping, please fill out the previously approved short form located here:  http://www.brockracing.com/forummapsupport.html

Once again, this issue is not evident on all 2008 Hayabusas. If your bike seems fine, it probably is. You will not gain any performance or drivability by completing the steps above if there is nothing wrong with your particular bike.

Good Luck and GO FAST!

Guys,

HELLO!

The new 2008 Hayabusa is almost identical electronically to the 2007 GSX-R1000.

I will be adding information as we figure out Suzukis Fastest bike EVER!

1:  Stock O2 sensor: First and foremost, I need to clear up some items about this new little gadget.

The 2008 Hayabusa IS **NOT** CLOSED LOOP!!!in the traditional (automotive) form.

The Stock O2 sensor MUST BE REMOVED from the bike for proper performance. In a nutshell, this sensor is 'emission control BS' to help the bike pass more stringent (Euro 3 and Tier 2) air quality standards. Its job is to DRASTICALLY LEAN the air fuel mixture at cruising speeds (ONLY). Even if you have our map to correct this, the stock ecu will continue to remove fuel with the sensor installed.effectively rendering our map useless from a performance standpoint.

The simple fix (at the moment) is to install a power commander since it includes a jumper to remove the sensor from the wiring harness without letting the check FI light flash. This prevents the stock ECU from attempting to ruin our mapping. We also have these jumpers available for sale without the power commander. Call 937-912-0054 or contact sales@brockracing.com for more details and/or pricing.
Once the jumper plug and power commander are installed, the mapping works just like the older Busas.

Please note: We have now added an O2 bung to allow the use of a Bosch (5 wire) sensor for use with our Innovate Technology A/F Meters (or a wideband unit, etc...) as a convenience to our customers. The stock sensor will NOT fit our bung which is intentional since you dont need it anywayespecially for race use. If you decide to run an after-market 02 sensor, simply drill the exhaust in the center of the hole and smooth the area at the bottom of the bung/pipe with a Dremel tool or similar small cutter. Be careful not to harm the threads on the bung; we suggest entering and exiting the bung without the tool rotating. The stainless steel of the pipe is only .028 inches thick which makes this an easy job for most individuals with moderate mechanical skills.

If you do not have a power commander, then you can simply leave the stock O2 sensor plugged in and tie-wrap it up under the fairing until you purchase a power commander. We also have a bypass plug available separately to prevent the FI light from flashing if you do wish to purchase a power commander. Call our sales department (see above) for more details about Suzuki Bypass Plug part # 76423019.

Note: The check FI light will flash if the sensor is removed from the bike without using the plug. We have not investigated the performance effect of this problem, and we wont. If you want your bike to be as fast and smooth as possible, you need a power commander with our map.

As always, maps are easily obtained by filling out a map request form. A shorter map form can be found here: www.brockracing.com/dealermapsupport.html

**IMPORTANT**

2.    Removal of the Secondary Throttle Plates IS NOT RECOMMENDED on the New Busa and the maps included ARE NOT intended for use with the plates removed. The 2008 Busa is as close to factory RACE BIKE as you can get...the secondary plates are used to smooth the power NOT restrict power as occurs with other bikes (like the ZX-14). At this point, we only see them functioning with the mode switch and low cruising speeds for emission purposes which are eliminated with the use of the power commander, our mapping, and jumper plug.

3:  TRE use on the Suzukis: Note: The TRE-002 simply locks the bike into the 5th gear map in the stock ECU which KILLS POWER after adding some additional torque in the lower revs. This power killing is a good idea on stock and short wheelbase Busas.

Note: The gear position indicator is stuck on '5' all of the time, the 'neutral' light doesnt work, and the bike will not run with the kickstand down.but the 186 MPH limiter doesnt work either.

4:  All short stacks: 2007 GSX-R1000 Short Stock Velocity Stacks (Suzuki part #13881-41G00). We use all 4 short stacks to help boost the high RPM power of this bike in conjunction with our exhaust design. This works especially well with our extended ECU mod.

Thats it for now. More to come soon.

Good Luck and GO FAST!

Brock
